Das alte so – als (statt so – wie) hat sich auch in insofern – als erhalten, zum Beispiel «Er hat sich insofern geirrt, als er an in ihre Rückkehr geglaubt hat». In diesem Fall ist es aber logisch, nicht wie zu verwenden, da hier nicht mit dem Ausmaß des Glaubens gleichgesetzt, sondern angegeben wird, in welcher Hinsicht er sich geirrt hat. (Vgl.: «Als Journalist hat er …»)
Bei A ebenso wie B wird im einfachsten Fall nicht zwischen verschiedenen Abstufungen unterschieden, sodass es einfach darum geht, dass beides zutrifft. Ich würde denn auch sowohl – wie auch gegenüber sowohl – als auch vorziehen, allerdings ist uns sowohl – als auch erhalten geblieben und üblicher.
